ACTING
I am an up-and-coming actor living in the Los Angeles area. Through musical theater, I discovered my love for acting. My senior year in high school, I had the honor of playing Alfred P. Doolittle, father to Eliza in our production of “My Fair Lady”. During the middle of the two-week run, near the end of the play, Eliza began packing to move in with her teacher, Professor Higgins. Suddenly I found myself missing my daughter. I was in the moment. Of course, once your notice you’re in the moment, you are suddenly out of it. But that moment began my journey into another form of storytelling.
As an actor, I believe my job is to help tell the story that was written for me. Starting out in the industry, I learned that if I wasn’t getting cast, I needed to create. I used my skills as a songwriter to start telling narrative stories. In 2015, I wrote, directed and performed in two films. “Even Steve” is an alt-history biography of my life if life didn’t go according to plan. Steve tries to navigate the singer/songwriter scene in LA. “Making Amends” is a film that revolves around a young woman who must confront her father’s addiction and make a tough decision that will profoundly impact her life. As she grapples with family dynamics and personal choices, the film delves into themes of love, responsibility, and resilience.
In 2018, I created a one-person show called “My Calico Soul” and I’m proud to say that it sold out it’s run. This show, written and produced by me and co-directed by Jessica Lynn Johnson, is a journey of bisexual identity and the labels we embrace. I used personal stories, childhood memories and present-day reflections and used the music from my childhood to tell my life story and its ups and downs.
In 2020, I wrote a thriller drama about a man at the end of his rope called “Echoes of Kerberos”. I won’t give the story away, but the film is on this website if you’d like to give it a go. I produced it and performed the lead role of Robert. I am deeply proud of the festival run it had and have won several awards for myself and my cast and crew across the board.
Last year, I directed a music video for an amazing artist and friend, Kayla Burch called “Broken Mirror”. It also did well in festivals. This year we collaborated on a song and video called “reasons”. We co-wrote the song for Kayla’s wedding. She sang it to her husband for her wedding vows. I am deeply proud of this wonderful project. I am also proud to have appeared in several productions that I was but a humble performer in. Please head over to my EPK page to learn more.
